It’s been a busy week for the multinational corporations and billionaire owners of the American media (social and legacy).
First they declared that Democrat Joe Biden won the presidential election and now they are dismissing as false or outright censoring criticism of the Presidential election results.
Facebook has banned a group called “StoptheSteal” that was a rapidly growing focal point for opposition to the media’s contention that Biden won the Presidential election. Facebook said it took the action because “we saw worrying calls for violence from some members.”
The supposed calls for violence that prompted the elimination of StoptheSteal from Facebook seem less threatening than many incendiary posts in recent months related to protests over racial injustice and Trump.
One of the StoptheSteal’s 350,000 members shared a screenshot depicting a cartoon of a Disney-like girl in a swirl of stars saying, “Neither side is going to concede. Time to clean the guns, time to hit the streets.”
The other post that Facebook found threatening consisted of a cartoon of a Cro-Magnon type of man carrying a club and saying, “I reckon I’ve had enough of this sh.–.”
Possibly more troublesome to Facebook was the fact that StoptheSteal had a hand in organizing several pro-Trump rallies across the country.
One such rally in Atlanta featured Lin Wood, a prominent attorney who is best known for representing Richard Jewell, the security guard who was wrongly accused of planting a bomb at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
“This is a constitutional crisis,” said Wood, a Trump supporter. “I never dreamed the day would come when there would be censorship. If they take away your right to free speech, what are they going to take away next?”
Wood said the U.S. is “under attack. This was nothing more than a revolution. They’re trying to take away your rights. They’re trying to take away your rights They’re trying to take away your constitution. Don’t let them do it.”
Up to this point, criticism of the election results has been uniformly deemed false and without evidence by the media.
Attorney Sidney Powell of North Carolina, a former federal prosecutor and elected member of the American Law Institute, has now claimed the computer system and software programs used by many states to count ballots was manipulated to “flip” votes from Trump to Biden or added votes to Biden that did not exist.
“We need an audit of all the computer systems that played any role in this fraud whatsoever … They had this all planned. They had the algorithms. They had the paper ballots waiting to be inserted if and when needed,” said Powell.
Powell said the Trump team has found found 450,000 ballots in key states that contained only votes for Biden, with no down-ballot selections. Powell suggests this number of single vote ballots is suspect.
Powell’s allegations aired on Fox News (and a few conservative podcasts) but have been ignored by major media outlets, just as they ignored evidence prior to the election that Biden may be implicated in a foreign influence peddling scheme involving family members.
