Trump Supporters Cast About For Credible Info On Election

After years of uniformly negative and partisan reporting on the Trump administration, the media came up with a new concept designed to restore its credibility – fact checking.

But now the fact checkers suffer from the same credibility problems.

So where do 73 million Trump voters who suspect their candidate was robbed in the recent election go for information? They go to social media, which is a Pandora’s box of raw, unfiltered information that has no real indices of credibility.

It is supremely ironic that Democrats and the media complain that social media is awash with misinformation about the election results. They accuse Republicans of using social media to instill distrust in America’s election, with Vox claiming Trump is attempting a coup.

In fact, what Trump is doing is attempting to insure the election was fair and trustworthy, which he has every right to do. And his supporters are looking for unbiased information.

Speaking of Facts…

Just like pollsters who predicted a Democratic rout that never materialized, fact-checkers have lost all credibility.

The giant in the fact checking industry is PolitiFact, a supposedly non-partisan organization that is affiliated with The Poynter Institute of St. Petersburg, Fl, which is classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity. Poynter’s major donors include Facebook, Google and Open Society Foundations. The latter was founded by Hungarian billionaire George Soros, who, according to Remix News, donated more than $50 million into the 2020 U.S. presidential election to take down Donald Trump.

Here’s an example of a PolitiFact “fact-check”:

U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-FL, said in a TV commercial: “Vice President Biden threatened a foreign country and forced them to fire a prosecute who was investigating a company” that paid his son Hunter.

Though it was and is completely accurate, PolitiFact rated it “false.”

“Biden did pressure Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor, but there is no evidence it was in connection with his son’s role as a board member with the Ukranian gas company Burisma,” PolitiFact states.

But Scott said Biden forced Ukraine to fire a prosecutor who was investigating Burisma. This is true.

PolitiFact goes on to state:

“Biden’s position wanting the prosecutor removed was the same as official U.S. foreign policy and mimicked the positions by governments and anti-corruption organizations throughout Europe.”

But Scott did not say otherwise. And the U.S. position obviously was influenced by Joe Biden, who was President Barack Obama’s pointman in U.S. – Ukraine relations.

Then PolitiFact states:

“The prosecutor Scott portrays as a corruption fighter was, in fact, believed to be ineffective and failing to pursue corruption cases. “

But Scott did not characterize the prosecutor’s effectiveness. And PolitiFact is merely spouting what it says others supposedly believe.

PolitiFact Provides Cover for Biden

Instead of being a neutral arbiter, PolitiFact provided cover for Biden.

The New York Post produced evidence that Hunter Biden introduced his father to Burisma advisor Vadym Pozharski less than a year before Joe Biden forced government officials in Ukraine to fire the prosecutor. In an email, Pozharskyi asked Hunter for “advice on how you could use your influence” on the company’s behalf. Later, Pozharski thanked Hunter Biden “for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together.” Joe Biden has not denied meeting with Pozharski.

Moreover, Hunter Biden’s business partner Tony Bobulinski released emails, text messages and audio recordings showing Joe Biden was entangled in a 2017 venture involving a Chinese firm.

PolitiFact dismissed Bobulinski’s allegations as false in an “explainer.” It states that “[c]redible news organizations have found no evidence to corroborate Bobulinski’s claims about a role in the proposed venture for Joe Biden. Joe Biden’s financial documents show no indication of any income related to the venture.”

Why does PolitiFact infer The New York Post is not a credible newspaper? If the Post errs, if faces a multi-million dollar lawsuit. Post attorneys went over every letter of the Biden articles with a fine tooth comb to ensure they are correct. And the Post is the fourth largest newspaper in the country.

Most importantly, Joe Biden has not denied any of this. He claimed he never took a penny from foreign sources but this does not preclude Hunter banking the money on his father’s behalf.

Just As Partisan As Its Donors…

The fact is that PolitiFact is as partisan as its Democratic donors, which would be a scandal except the media doesn’t care. And Trump supporters are casting about Facebook and Twitter for information about what is going on because they can’t get unbiased facts from the media.

It is highly likely that half of voters think it is the Democrats who have staged a coup.

Any way you look at it, this is a shocking, potentially disastrous development in a democracy.
